Professional connections

Walk into the room already knowing who you're there to meet.

The Gantry is the support you're never given when networking. Read the room before you attend, know what makes each person interesting and give them a nudge to break the ice before you attend.

Mobile-first. Built around real UK networking events. Free to join a Room.

How it works

Four moves, and the awkward bit disappears.

Most networking is a lottery: you turn up, you hope, you leave with a pocket of cards and no follow-up. The Gantry turns that into something you can actually prepare for.

Find the Room

Swipe events near you, filtered by how far you'll travel and how far ahead you plan. Interested, saved, or not this time.

Read the room

Once you're going, see who else is. Each card leads with what they're working on right now.

Nudge with intent

Shortlist the people you are interested in meeting, then send a nudge that breaks the ice.

Keep the thread

An accepted nudge opens a small thread scoped to that Room. Enough to learn a little more, and open a dialogue you can carry on in the room.

For attendees

Everything you'd do on the way there — done properly.

Room swipes

The events worth your evening, one card at a time.

Filter by how far you'll travel and how far ahead you plan — and swipe. Each Room shows the industry, the venue, how full it is and how many people share your field, before you commit an evening to it.

  • Right for interested, up to save, left to move on
  • Distance shown from your location or your town
  • Not many nearby? It switches to a list and offers to widen your radius

Attendee swipes

Read the room before you're in it.

Once you're going, the Room opens up. Every attendee card leads with what they're working on and what they'll happily be asked about — so you're deciding on substance, not on a headshot.

  • Shortlist the people you'd genuinely like to meet
  • A second pass turns your shortlist into a considered one, not an impulse send

Nudges

A limited number of asks. So each one lands.

A nudge is not a message request — it names an intent before it says a word. Discuss collaboration. Understand each other's work. Ask for an introduction. The recipient knows what they're accepting before they open it.

  • Capped per event — 2 free, 4 as a delegate, 10 as a Premium Member
  • One nudge per person per event. No second bites, no pestering
  • Accept, decline or ignore — declining is easy, and nobody's embarrassed
Compose sheet for sending a nudge, with an intent selector and an optional 500-character message.
Threads

Small threads that end in a real meeting.

Accept a nudge and a mini-thread opens, scoped to that Room and capped at 50 messages. It exists to arrange the conversation, not to replace it — when it gets real, you move to email, and The Gantry gets out of the way.

  • One inbox for what's waiting on you, what you sent, and what's live
  • No read receipts, no typing indicators, no pressure to be always-on
  • After the event, log a verified introduction — confirmed by the other person

Projects

The work that comes after the handshake.

A board seat, an advisory role, a round table, a piece of consultancy. Projects can stay invite-only inside your trust graph, or open to pitches from the wider network — with deadlines that are published up front and honoured.

  • Three short answers to pitch: what you bring, a relevant example, your availability
  • Owners triage privately, and can open a one-to-one thread to ask a question
  • Every pitch is answered — silence is closed out honestly at the decision deadline

Not a job board, and deliberately so. No listings wall, no public applicant counts, no value figures — the brief is described in words, and the conversation does the rest.

A project open to pitches: a non-executive director role, with pitch and decision deadlines.

For event owners

Your delegates get more out of the room. You get to prove it.

Run a networking event, a chamber breakfast, a conference track or a members' club night? Upload your delegate list, hand every attendee premium access for your event, and see exactly what the room produced.

Delegate upload

One CSV. Everyone in the room, invited properly.

Drop in your delegate list and The Gantry classifies every row: new to the platform, already a member, or already Premium. Each gets the right invitation email — nobody is double-invited, and nobody is dropped in silence.

  • Two columns needed: name and email. Up to 5,000 rows a go
  • Duplicates, invalid addresses and existing RSVPs are skipped and shown to you
  • A full result table per upload — status and match reason on every row

Premium Delegate Access

Give the whole room the good version — for your event.

Premium Delegate Access lifts your attendees above the free tier for your event only. One button grants it to everyone; the table lets you grant or revoke person by person. Existing Premium Members keep what they already have — you're never charged twice for them.

It's the difference between "we put 200 people in a room" and "we can show you what those 200 people did next".

  • 4 nudges per delegate instead of 2 — twice the introductions in play
  • 4 post-event connection requests, in the window after the doors close
  • Full attendee visibility, so nobody arrives blind to who is in the room
  • Access runs from 14 days before to 7 days after — the window that matters

Analytics

The number every sponsor asks for, finally answerable.

Not door numbers — outcomes. Verified attendance, nudges sent and accepted, connections made afterwards, and how your delegates moved through from invite to introduction. All aggregate: no message bodies, no attendee emails, ever.

  • Verified attendance via QR check-in, not a clipboard estimate
  • Event-on-event comparison — see which format actually produced connections
  • Delegate journey funnel, from uploaded list to introductions made
  • Repeat attendance across your events, so you can see loyalty forming

What it deliberately isn't

Built to be quiet.

Plenty of products want your attention every day. This one wants about ten minutes, twice around an event you were going to attend anyway.

No feed, no likes, no counts

Nothing to scroll, nothing to perform for, and no public tallies of who knows whom. Your connections are yours and they are not a scoreboard.

Privacy that's enforced, not promised

Skips are visible only to their author. Pending invitees see a stripped view.

Nobody gets ghosted

Pitches get reminders at 7, 3 and 1 days, and close honestly at the deadline with a plain message. An unanswered ask is a bug here, not a feature.

Pricing

Free to attend. Paid when it's working.

Every plan sees every Room. What changes is how many people you can reach around each event — and, for organisers, what you can hand your delegates.

Questions

The things people ask first.

Is this a dating app for business?

No. The swipe is a triage tool, not a matching game — it exists because reading 60 attendee profiles as a list is a chore, and because a considered shortlist beats a scattergun. There is no mutual-match requirement, no chat until someone accepts an intent-led nudge, and no way to see who passed on you.

What actually happens if I skip someone?

Nothing they will ever see. Skip marks are stored against your account only, and every API and screen is built so the other person cannot learn they were skipped. It is never labelled a rejection, and it doesn't stop them nudging you.

Why cap the number of nudges?

Because unlimited outreach is what ruined the last network you left. Scarcity does the work: if you only have a few, you spend them on people you genuinely want to meet, and receiving one means something. One nudge per person per event, and the window closes when the event ends.

I run events. What do my delegates actually get?

Premium Delegate Access for your event: double the nudges of the free tier, post-event connection requests, and full visibility of who is in the room — live from 14 days before to 7 days after. You grant it in one action after uploading your list, and any of your delegates who are already Premium Members simply keep what they have.

What do I get to see as an organiser?

Aggregate outcomes: RSVPs, verified attendance from QR check-in, nudges sent and accepted, connections made afterwards, repeat attendance across your events, and a funnel from uploaded delegate to introduction made. You never see message contents or attendee email addresses — that boundary isn't negotiable, and it's what makes delegates comfortable using it at your event.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The Gantry is a progressive web app — it runs in the browser and installs to your home screen if you want it there. It's designed thumb-first for the walk from the car park, and it works on a desktop too.

What about my data?

Your profile is visible to people in Rooms you've said you're going to, and on a public profile link only if you create one. Your shortlist, your skips and your saved Rooms are private to you. Times are always shown in UK time with the right GMT or BST suffix, because a 7pm event should say 7pm.

Founding members

The first rooms are being built now.

We're opening The Gantry with a small group of members and event owners across the Midlands and the South East. Leave your email and we'll be in touch about the next Room near you.

Event owners: tell us the event and the date, and we'll set the Room up with you.
